1150 Miss You Rolling Stones
Chicago-what a band. I saw them in Las Vegas in 2001 and again this summer at the New Jersey Arts Center and with one exception was the exact same band. Still 3 original members and still a great band through the years. This is 1st of 12 Chicago songs on my list.
"You're giving me a heart attack but its the kind of like""--there are not many funk bands better than Cameo although they only show up twice in my countdown. This hit in 1986-- the band was perhaps the best funk band I've seen since that great band from Dayton Ohio--the Ohio Players.
Both the Beatles and Stones pop up here--both place 12 songs on my list--good but not the most by far.
Michael Jackson who I am a huge music fan of hits 7 times alone, 6 with the Jackson 5. His best song--Billy Jean--which is way up the charts.

1175 Bon Temps Roulet Brother Joscephus and the Love Revival Revolution
Well, I have to start with the most righteous Brother Joscephus and his 12 person band. Whether you call it New Orleans soul or secular gospel or just good time party music I have never seen a band like Brother Joscephus and the Love Revival Revolution. I was up at Stratton Mountain in Vermont for the fourth of July this past year and this band was playing outside I never heard of. My son was also there and he realized he had seen them in a club in Amagansett, Long Island a month ago. I have never seen a band I liked so much immediately. Their music was great, they write there own stuff(although they did do a couple of covers) and Brother Joscephus is a showman. I bought their cd there and I play it all the time in my car. My daughter and I sing one song together at the top of our lungs but that is another story. Bon Temps Roulez(Let the Good Times Roll) is a great song. It is on You Tube and their website(Brother Joscephus.com). You don't believe me--check them out tomorrow night in the city at the City Winery or New Years Eve at Stratton Mountain . This is the first of 3 songs by the righteous brother on my top 1230.
The rest of this group of 25 has a large number of British Invasion bands from the 60s--Beatles, Hermans Hermits, Dave Clark Five and Freddie and the Dreamers which is when I started putting together my top 20 every week which later turned into my top 40 and it continued until I went to college. Just couldn't get Casey Kasim every week up at St. Lawrence University. I did see Peter Noone (Herman) playing outside not too many years (maybe 7-8) ago and he has aged well. Alas, Freddie Garrity died recently as did Mike Smith--the voice of the Dave Clark Five. Why didn't Dave Clark ever do any revival concerts?
Ride My Seesaw is the first of 10 Moody Blues songs on the top 1230. I did not like them at all at college but I have come to love them as an adult. They are great live and my wife and I saw them at the NJ Performing Arts Centr about 4 years ago

Just finished another baseball set in psa 8 or better
As most of you know who know me, I am an avid card collector. Primarily I collect baseball, football and basketball cards but also hockey, other sports and even non-sports. I also like to collect them in graded condition. The grading company I use is PSA and I strive to get every card in every set in psa 8(near mint to mint) or better. I have collected cards for about 25 years and graded cards for most of that time period.
My collection has grown significantly over the years and I now have 105 sets complete with each card in psa 8 or better condition. The 105th that I just completed today is a 25-card set called the East Hills Pirates and was named after the East Hills Shopping Center outside of Pittsburgh where the cards were distributed. The set contains Hall of Famers Roberto Clemente, Willie Stargell and Bill Mazeroski.

This 25 once again goes from the 1950s with At the Hop which I first saw performed by Sha Na Na in 1972 to Comeback Song by one of my favorite "country" artists Darius Rucker--former lead singer of Hootie and the Blowfish. Included is thr first of eight songs by Three Dog Night who I first saw in concert at MSG in 1971 where Stevie Wonder was the warmup act. It also has the first of seven songs by the Spinners which through most of their most popular period featured Phillippe Wynne who in my opinion was one of the great r&b performers of his era but whose life ended tragically at a young age. The Chi-Lites led by the late great Eugene Record will show up four more time in the countdown as will the Grateful Dead and Herman's Hermits.

My Top 1230 Songs of All Time (In Order)
Four years ago, I made a list of my top 750 songs of all time, in order. This was at the urging of my two children, who said they were tired of hearing me exclaim, "This is one of my favorite 500 songs of all-time!" Four years later, I have finished five versions, and the list now includes 1230 songs. The list encompasses songs from the 1950s to the present. I will start counting down from number 1230(at about 25 at a time), and continue posting until I reach #1. Any and all comments are welcome.
